To ensure you stay healthy throughout your luxury cruise adventure on the Amazon, guests on the M/V Aqua and the M/V Aria traveling to the Amazon Basin are advised to take both anti-malaria medication and yellow fever shots. If you plan to extend your journey to Cusco and Machu Picchu, you can also ask your doctor about medication for altitude sickness. Make sure to stay hydrated at high altitudes at all times.

When you board our luxury ships, you will be supplied with a complimentary water bottle which is yours to keep. Water refill stations are available throughout the vessel. We have a paramedic on board at all times and our luxury cruise staff is trained in first aid and we have a satellite phone for emergency access should that be necessary.

Aqua Expeditions supplies life vests for all passengers on board the M/V Aqua and the M/V Aria. Once all the passengers have boarded, the crew will also conduct a mandatory safety drill. Life vests are also required to be worn while onboard the skiffs used for shore excursions.

Peru is well known for its warm, hospitable people. However, when traveling in Peru’s larger cities, visitors should be cautious about pickpockets and street crime, as they would be anywhere in the world. Keep your belongings close (don’t keep valuables in a backpack) and avoid wearing flashy or expensive jewelry. While on board, all guest cabins include safe deposit boxes available for your use.
