Some twenty international airlines serve Lima, Peru’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM). Flights to Lima leave daily from major gateway cities in the United States and Europe, as well as around the world. Guests traveling directly onward to board the Aqua or the Aria will change planes at Lima airport for the daily one hour 25 minutes air flight into Iquitos, Peru.
Travelers bound for an Aqua Expeditions luxury river cruise will need to fly in and out of Iquitos, Peru’s Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport (IQT). We recommend doing so on a LAN Perú flight as Aqua Expeditions airport transfers are only included if arriving or departing on these recommended flights.
We allow you to bring as much luggage as you like, but suggest the use of soft suitcases/bags for easy storage. How much you bring, however, may be determined by the airlines, which have limits on both checked and carry-on baggage. LAN for example, allows 23 kilos (50 pounds) of checked luggage and 8 kilos (17 pounds) of carry-on baggage in Economy Class.
Lima is two hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time (one hour behind Eastern Standard Time) minimizing jetlag issues if you are traveling from the U.S.
