Start your 4-night journey in bustling, all-about-business Ho Chi Minh City (the former Saigon) in Vietnam (or in Siem Reap, Cambodia depending on your departure dates). If you embark from Saigon, the M/V Aqua Mekong van will pick you up and transport you to the vibrant riverfront city of My Tho, where stilt houses crowd the river banks and colorful sampans glide up to the busy shops. Settle into your luxurious suite on the M/V Aqua Mekong, and prepare for the first of many gourmet meals. Your Mekong River cruise will take you to Sa Dec, which housed an American Patrol Boat and later a Swift Boat base during the Vietnam War, and was home to French novelist Marguerite Duras. Travel by sampan to the Tra Su flooded forest and visit a local Buddhist monastery, where you will be able to have a conversation with the head monk. Another option: Visiting a local market with our onboard chef. After crossing the border into Cambodia, you will have a chance to admire the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh before departing for the airport. Visitors can also choose to begin their 4-night cruise on the Mekong in Siem Reap, Cambodia and travel to Phenom Penh.
If you wish to explore longer, we will help you book optional post-trips to Siem Reap, the temples of Angkor Wat or Sihanoukville’s beaches in Cambodia or explore Hanoi, Halong Bay or Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in more depth.
