Consulting Chef David Thompson Wins Best Restaurant in Thailand for Nahm

Consulting Chef of the Aqua Mekong, David Thompson was presented with the top award at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards in Singapore on March 2nd, 2014 with his restaurant Nahm in Bangkok securing the No.1 spot.  His acclaimed restaurant earned the top award in the S.Pellegrino Asia’s Best Restaurant annual list and was named The S. Pellegrino Best Restaurant in Thailand.

The news follows our recent announcement that David Thompson will join Aqua Expeditions as Consulting Chef of the eagerly awaited Aqua Mekong cruiseship, which is scheduled to launch in September 2014.Francesco & David

With a reputation for first class cuisine influenced by Southeast Asia, David will create an exclusive menu for Aqua Expeditions guests, combining the culinary traditions of Mekong River culture with the freshest ingredients. Dishes include local ingredients such as Khmer Kampot Pepper, Mekong River Prawns and Catfish as well as fruits and vegetables from the markets of Saigon, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.  Aqua Expeditions is renowned for offering guests a gourmet experience and with David on board the new Mekong cruise is guaranteed to deliver.

Aqua Expeditions, was the first adventure travel company to introduce five-star luxury cruises to the Amazon River in Peru, and will offer the most exclusive vessel on the Mekong River from September 2014. Aqua Mekong will be the company’s first vessel in Asia and will take guests on a journey on the river Mekong, between Cambodia and Vietnam.
