Hollywood on the Mekong and the Amazon

While a cruise with Aqua Expeditions allows travelers to completely disconnect and unplug from the rest of the world, it also allows guests to “plug in” to a good movie or TV show. Our entertainment options on board our cruise ships include a fully-equipped screening room and outdoor cinema aboard the Aqua Mekong, and individual iPads for on-demand entertainment aboard the Aqua Amazon (and coming soon to the Aria Amazon).  After an exciting day of spotting three-toed sloths and pink dolphins in the Amazon or visiting Buddhist monks and traditional Cambodian temples along the Mekong River, a little Hollywood entertainment can be a fun way to relax and unwind.

Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon Entertainment Options

The Aqua Amazon now has iPads for guest use, each loaded with an extensive library of 150 films, allowing guests to watch movies at their leisure when and where they please: while lounging on the California King-sized beds in their suites (pictured, below) or perhaps while sipping a Camu Camu Sour on the ship’s outdoor observation deck. Additionally, guests traveling with their own tablet pre-loaded with the DS-VIDEO app will have direct access to the Aqua Amazon film library.  This same service will be available aboard the Aria Amazon in May 2015.image001

Aqua Mekong Entertainment Options

The Aqua Mekong features a full-sized luxury media room along with an outdoor cinema (both pictured, below), where guests can enjoy everything from Charlie Chaplin classics to Modern Family episodes, Beetlejuice to Blue Jasmine, and for kids, shows such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Dispicable Me, while watching the Mekong float by in the background. The outdoor cinema is located on the observation deck, where private screenings can be arranged for up to twenty guests; a perfect setting to take in classic films about this exotic region such as The Scent of Green Papaya or The Quiet American while sipping a sundowner and relaxing from the day’s activities.
