Vietnam Delat Tours
Nestled in the South Central Highlands of Vietnam and named ‘city of a thousand pine trees’ for its forested surroundings, Dalat attracted the French during the colonial era to its cooler climate and flower filled scenery. Today its graceful mountains, shimmering lake and well-preserved Indochine architecture make a restorative escape from Vietnam’s chaotic metropolises.
Dalat is also an ideal destination for adventure travelers, with excellent mountain biking, hiking and canyoning excursions around the Valley of Love. Less strenuous but also engaging are tours of Vietnamese coffee and tea plantations, which produce unique varieties of ‘made in Dalat’ fruits, vegetables, tea, coffee and flowers. Communities of 33 distinct Vietnamese hill tribes live around Dalat. They bring their produce to sell in the street markets where they can be identified by their traditional clothing and ornate silver jewelry.
Other interesting sites around Dalat include the three summer homes of Bao Dai the last emperor of Vietnam, the Lake of Sighs, panoramic views of Dalat and surrounding mountains from Langbiang Peak, Thien Vien Truc Lam Monastery accessible by cable car and the thunderous 20-meter high Pongour Falls.
Please note that pre- and post- Vietnam river cruises itineraries are not included in the Aqua Expeditions Mekong River cruise rates and are priced separately. We will be happy to recommend our preferred tour operators to arrange this component of your Vietnam holiday.
